Cookies

A cookie is a small text file a site can store in your browser. This site is a static publication. It does not need cookies to show studies, rates, or journal notes. We use cookies only to remember your banner choice and, if you agree, to count which pages are opened.

This note should be read with the privacy notice.

Types we use

Essential. The record of Accept or Reject on the cookie banner. Without it, the banner would return on every visit. The site, the contact form, and the studies remain available if you reject.

Analytics. A simple visit-count cookie set only after Accept. It does not follow you across other websites. If you Reject, it is not set.

We do not use advertising cookies. We do not drop cookies from social networks.

The consent record is written with a brand-prefixed key in local storage rather than as a third-party file. The page-view cookie is only written after Accept; the current static build may not always emit it, but this table is the rule we follow if it is present.

Third-party cookies

Fonts are requested from Google Fonts. That request can allow Google to see your IP address and browser. It is not a cookie we set. If you block third-party requests, the layout still works in a system font.

Images load from public image hosts. Those hosts may see a request for the picture. They are not given your form message.

How to manage or disable cookies

Use Reject on the banner; studies and the form still work. You can also clear stored data for this site in your browser settings, or use the browser’s block-cookies control. After clearing, the banner will appear again because we can no longer read your last choice.

If you disable cookies

You will still read the site. You may see the banner more often. We will not know, via the visit-count cookie, which journal note you opened. Emailing us is unaffected.
